3M Abrasives

Kemfast Aerospace offers the full range of 3M abrasives for a variety of applications and materials, which offers choice in terms of performance, cut and life depending on your requirements.

Abrasive Sheets and Rolls are offered in a selection of abrasive, grit and backing material combinations to cover a wide range of industrial requirements.

Sheets come in various sizes and rolls provide an economical source from which the operator can cut a required length.

Three types of backing are:
Paper, Cloth and Polyester

With four types of abrasive coating:
Aluminium Oxide, Silicon Carbide, Garnet and Zirconia.

Grit Size Range: Sheets 40 Grit - 1200 Grit. Rolls 40 Grit - 1200 Grit.

3M 7446 Hand Pad
Open, aggressive web that is excellent to grain, clean, denib, defuzz and finish. Resistant to loading. May be used by hand, on a hand pad block, or on an in-line sander. Abrasive mineral: Medium grade silicon carbide. Color: Gray


3M 7447 Hand Pad
Most universally used in a variety of applications. Excellent starting point to clean, finish, grain, denib and defuzz. May be used by hand, with a hand pad block, or on an in-line sander. Abrasive mineral: Very Fine grade aluminum oxide. Color: Maroon

3M 7440 Hand Pad
Tight and dense, this pad is the most aggressive and durable web. Excellent for heavy cleaning, deburring, and finishing. May be used by hand, with a hand pad block or on an in-line sander. Abrasive mineral: Medium grade aluminum oxide. Color: Tan


3M 7445 Hand Pad
Conformable web and fine mineral are excellent for fine finishes, light cleaning. Among our least aggressive abrasive hand pad. May be used by hand, with a hand pad block or on an in-line sander. Abrasive mineral: Super fine grade Aluminum silicate. Color


3M 7448 Hand Pad
Conformable web and finest silicon carbide hand pad available. Excellent for final finishing and light cleaning. May be used by hand, with a hand block, or on an in-line sander. Abrasive mineral: Ultra fine grade silicon carbide. Color: Light Gray


3M 5440 Hand Pad
Very open, extra heavy, tough web with coarse abrasive. Resistant to loading. Does not contaminate. Excellent for cleaning scale or corrosion. Abrasive mineral: Coarse grade aluminum oxide. Color: Brown
