Welding Wires

Kemfast Aerospace and United States Welding Corporation in partnership

United States Welding Corporation

Kemfast Aerospace is pleased to announce their agreement to exclusively supply approved Aerospace Welding Wires on behalf of United States Welding Corporation in the UK and throughout Europe. We can provide the OEM’s and sub-contractors with local stock of welding filler wires at competitive prices.

As Part of this agreement, we have invested considerably in a stocking programme, and now supply alloys such as Jethete, C263, NC 80/20, 347, MARM 918, FSX 414, Hastelloy X and several grades of Titanium for delivery next working day throughout the UK. For further information, please call our sales team on +44 (0)870 800 5525 or email us on sales@kemfast.com for further information.

The Metallurgically Controlled MC-Grade Process

United States Welding Corporation is a recognised leader in the welding industry of filler metal development since 1960. Improvements in the reliability of repair welding, and increased use of recycled gas turbine components have been accomplished by specifying lower trace elements and vacuum melting in Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS). In addition, constant improvements in wire production equipment and quality control procedures coupled with the greater reliability of MC GRADE Welding wire, have advanced this segment of the welding industry.

Aerospace Welding

Unlike commercial wire drawing in which contaminating lubricants are used, the MC GRADE Process uses no contaminating lubricants. Thus, the most common source of impurity in welding wire manufacturing is eliminated.

In addition, any residual surface contamination of the wire is mechanically removed at various stages in the wire forming process. This ensures that contamination is not embedded in the wire as in commercial wire drawing. At final inspection, the wire is checked for chemical composition and cleanliness and must pass a strict bead-on-plate weldability test before shipment. This assures that welds are free of oxides, slag inclusions and other defects.

Advances in trace element control, weld usability testing and alloy verification have been applied to the MC-GRADE version of these alloys, for improved reliability. Many of these advances have been incorporated into AMS specifications.

Turbaloy Alloy Welding Wire

Kemfast Metals

Kemfast is able to supply a full range of USW TURBALOY Filler metal, which must be specially engineered and quality control tested before use on rotating or stationary turbine components. In order to conform to the strict NDE requirements such as Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (FPT) and Radiographic Testing (RT), most TURBALOY alloys are available in HQ grade, and conform to or exceed the minimum requirements of AMS specifications and OEM Engine manufacturers requirements.

Many Turbaloy alloys are available as the MC GRADE and may be vacuum melted, re-melted, processed from selected re-draw or semi finished wire utilising proprietary MC-processing which also includes special weldability and quality control testing.
