Castrol Products

Braycote 600FF

Non-flammable NLGI #2 grease, chemically inert, and thermally stable and does not use any chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) during product manufacture. It has exceptionally low volatility and has little tendency to form deposits. It has excellent lubricating properties; good shear stability, and low acute toxicity.

Application

Braycote 600 EF is designed to operate in the presence of fuels, oxidizers, and in applications of deep space vacuum. It is used in gears, ball and roller bearings, electrical contacts, and "O" rings. This grease is highly recommended for applications where temperature extremes and/or low vacuums are routine, such as cryogenic coolers, FLIR, laser optical systems, or hostile chemical environments. Braycote 600 EF exhibits excellent shelf life due to its intrinsic inertness

Braycote Micronic 601 EF

Castrol Braycote Micronic 601 EF is a smooth, buttery, translucent, off-white, NLGI #2 grease. Its base oil (Castrol Brayco® 815Z) is a perfluorinated polyether, with exceptional chemical resistance, extremely low volatility, and a wide temperature service range. The grease is non-toxic, non-flammable, and does not use any chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) during product manufacture.

Applications

Braycote Micronic 601 EF is designed to operate in the presence of rocket fuels, oxidizers and high vacuum. It is frequently used in space applications including the Space Shuttle and satellites. It should also be considered in any application where hostile chemical or extreme environmental conditions would preclude the use of ordinary grease. Typical applications include ball and roller bearings, gears, and as an assembly lubricant for Orings and elastomers

Braycote 602 EF

Castrol Braycote 602 EF is a smooth, buttery, grey coloured NLGI #2 grease. The base fluid is a stable perfluorinated polyether with exceptional chemical resistance, extremely low volatility, and a wide temperature service range. The gelling agent is a tetrafluoroethylene telomer. This product is non-flammable, does not use any chlorofluorocarbons during product manufacture, and is chemically inert. It is an excellent lubricant, has good shear stability, and low acute toxicity.

Application

Braycote 602 EF is designed to operate in the presence of fuels, oxidizers, and deep space vacuums. Typical applications include ball and roller bearings, gears, electrical contracts, and as an assembly lubricant for O-rings and elastomers. This grease is highly recommended in applications where temperature extremes and/or low vacuums are routine. Perfluorinated greases, such as this product, exhibit excellent shelf life due to their intrinsic inertness.

Braycote 631 RP

This NGLI #2 grease is non-flammable and is in general chemically inert. It is thermally stable either alone or in the presence of oxygen, has exceptionally low volatility, and has little tendency to form deposits. In addition Braycote 631 RP exhibits excellent lubricating properties, good dielectric properties, and shear stability.

Application

Braycote 631RP is designed for static or dynamic service in the presence of fuels and oxidizers. It has been used in gears, ball and roller bearings, electrical contacts, and as a thread and elastomer sealant. It is particularly useful as a lubricant in corrosive or oxygen (LOX/GOX) service and as a plug valve lubricant. This product is compatible with concentrated acids and bases and it does not hydrolyze or oxidize.

Braycote 803EP

Castrol Braycote 803EP is an NLGI #2 grease, based on a perfluoropolyether oil and thickened with a tetrafluoroethylene gelling agent. It also contains an extreme pressure additive. This product is thermally stable in air, vacuum, or in the presence of oxidizers such as oxygen and does not polymerize under these conditions. This grease is designed to operate from below -65ºF to above 500ºF (below -54ºC to above 260ºC) due to its inherently good volatility characteristics.

Application

Braycote 803EP was developed for those applications in which long- term exposure to high temperature and hard vacuum are expected and high load carrying capabilities are required. This product is stable with exposure to strong acids and oxidizers. Perfluorinated greases, in general, exhibit excellent shelf lives due to their intrinsic inertness.

Castrol Brayco 815 Z

Castrol Brayco 815 Z is a clear water white perfluorinated polyether based fluid. It is virtually inert, compatible with rocket propellants and oxidizers, is unaffected by ultraviolet, cosmic radiation, or high vacuums.
